Diversified Technique

This is an adjusting style that encompasses hands-on moves taken from a variety of Chiropractic techniques developed over many years by some of the best in our profession. High velocity, low amplitude force is delivered in a specific direction to the involved vertebrae to reduce subluxation, increase joint mobility, and restore more normal function. The speed, depth, and direction of the thrust is the result of years of practice experience and a thorough understanding of spinal biomechanics.

Cox Flexion/Distraction

Dr. James Cox is the founder of this non-force, very gentle, effective adjusting technique. The doctor uses a specially designed table that allows him to manually traction the involved spinal segments with the patient lying face down in the horizontal position. The manual, gentle series of pumping movements decompresses the involved disc, opens and re-aligns the facets (joints), and opens the canals where the nerves exit between the involved vertebrae. This is a wonderful form of spinal decompression that has proven effective in the treatment of herniated discs, sciatic pain, facet syndromes and other spinal problems. This technique has kept many people from requiring surgical intervention.

Instrument Adjusting

An Activator (a hand-held spring loaded instrument) or an Arthrostim (a motor driven, pulsating device) is used to deliver an adjustment to reduce subluxation, increase joint mobility, and allow for more normal function of the involved area. Both instruments gently deliver a high-velocity, low-amplitude, mechanized thrust to the targeted segment. Instruments are extremely effective when adjusting shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees or other joints. The Arthrostim delivers a series of thrusts at a rate of approximately 12 to 14 beats per second, whereas the Activator must be manually operated for each thrust. Both instruments are quite gentle and very well-tolerated by patients.

Sci-Fit Pro 1000:

This is an Upper Body Exerciser in which the person is seated and uses their arms to perforrm a movement that is the same as pedaling a bicycle. Among other benefits, it's used for rehabilitating shoulder injuries as well as for enhancing the healing process in whiplash injuries.

Electric Muscle Stimulation

Low-volt galvanic current is applied to the involved surrounding musculature to help reduce deep tissue inflammation, increase local circulation, and reduce muscle tension and/or spasm.

Motorized Segmental Traction

With the patient lying face up on a traction table, a series of rollers travel up and down the spine creating a wave-like rhythm that passively mobilizes the spinal joints causing increased circulation of both blood and spinal fluid as well as relaxation of the spinal muscles. This is true passive exercise of the spinal column.

Low Level Laser Therapy

This is a physical modality that emits photons (light) in very specific regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. It is the most researched and published modality in physical rehabilitation and has demonstrated a multitude of clinical benefits that include relieving pain from minor muscular and joint aches, pain and stiffness associated with arthritis, relaxing muscle spasms, and increasing local blood circulation. We have had great success with this therapy in treating sprains and strains of the shoulder, knee, and ankle, bursitis of the hip and shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis as well as other conditions.

Nutritional Counseling

We cannot stress enough the importance of proper nutrition. The depletion of nutrients from the soil has been well documented and has created a need for supplementation to our daily diet. With hundreds of products being promoted by the vitamin industry, it's easy to be confused about what combination of vitamins is truly necessary for optimal health. We can provide recommendations on which nutritional supplements are appropriate for your specific needs. By sticking to the basics you can get the most benefit without having to load up on pills every day.

Family Health & Wellness

Every member of your family is unique. Some may be active in sports while others may sit in front of a computer all day or lug a 20 lb. backpack to and from school. Regardless of lifestyle, each person's body requires specific adjustments to correct the damage caused by daily activities, promote healing, and maintain optimal health. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a happy and healthy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most.

More and more families are choosing chiropractic as a means of staying healthy. Many spinal problems seen in adults begin in childhood. Early detection and correction by a chiropractor can clear these problems before they even have a chance to begin. Additionally, parents who have their children in regular chiropractic care report that their children are sick less often and miss less school. When children develop healthy habits at an early age, they carry these habits into adulthood and ultimately lead happier and more productive lives.

Our office has special programs and savings for families who choose chiropractic. Call 301-897-5553 for more information or to schedule your family checkup.
